About me

Hi I'm Irene! I've had 20 years experience in Product Management. In large corporates, scale ups and start ups. B2C and B2B. ✔ I launched the precursor to iPhone/Android with the Telstra Hiptop (mid 2000s) in Australia - first phone people lined up for, first phone with an App store, first phone that grew virally with an average revenue of $100 per month (a lot of firsts) ✔ Managed the award winning, virally adopted Virgin Mobile Data Gifting. Instantly had 1M customers all talking to each other to give and receive spare data. ✔ Created a clean beauty skincare care DTC product and brand that was invited to the Emmys (2018). ✔ Have been teaching product management and coaching aspiring product managers since 2018. I'm passionate about solving problems. Always asking why, understanding customer pain and working to resolve them in a viable, desirable and sustainable way. Originally studied psychology, then completed a Masters in Business & Technology while working in product management roles. I have had experience at every product stage, lifecycle, can advise on how to get to product market fit, interview users, create Product Vision, strategy and roadmaps, best way to prioritise, manage epics and user stories, work with the squad to build for outcome (avoid the build trap), create business cases, pricing strategy and even help you manage your monthly product profit and loss (and know the levers to pull to help you hit your targets). Ask me anything you need to know about how to use the product tools - JTBD, BMC, Lean Canvas, Empathy Map as well as how to do all this remotely (Miro, Jira, Trello, Mixpanel and more). Ask me about marketing (I grew Kadee Botanicals instagram to over 10K followers within a short period of time, was invited to the Emmys, have set up ecomm store, email onboarding and automated sequences, worked with influencers). Ask me about contractual negotiations & partnerships (I set up multiple in my time in corporates, with large tech partners as well as mid/small channel partners - managed relationships, terms and processes needed for a healthy partnership) But those are the hard skills. Ask me anything about the soft skills too - how to navigate and get things done in a corporate environment, how to use radical candor to have honest conversations, influencing to bring people on the journey. Ask how to get into product management. And much more.
